Ways to Contribute

If you are looking for ways to support the Cambridge Foodbank, either through St John’s or the organization itself, here are a few ideas!

Donate to your local Food Bank! Not sure what to donate? Here is a list of items that we are always looking for:

  • Canned Meat or Fish
  • Canned Fruit
  • Sandwich Spreads
  • Cereal
  • Gluten Free Items
  • Pet food
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Baking Suplies (sugar, flour)
  • Feminine Hygiene Products
  • Snacks and Treats (cookies, granola bars)
  • Diapers
  • Baby Formula

Note: All items must be within their best-before date (we do not accept expired items), be unopened with all seals intact, and bought from a reputable source (no homemade goods) in their original packaging (no removed labels).

At St. John’s we have a drop box outside the office entrance for you to leave your donation if the office closed.

At St. John’s, we ask that you do not donate fresh foods such as meat, eggs, or vegetables. If you would like to contribute to these items, we ask that you donate money.  We purchase fresh bread each foodbank date for our clients, and other fresh items are provided by the Cambridge Foodbank for our location, depending on their stock and availability.

To donate, please go to our donation page and specify that the donation is for Foodbank purposes. We guarantee that 100% of your foodbank donation will go towards purchasing much-needed items for the Food Bank community we serve. You can also donate by dropping off a check or cash at the office. Please do not leave cheques or cash in the mailbox as it is frequently broken into and items are taken.

See more ways to donate or to become a Food Bank volunteer, please visit the Cambridge Foodbank page to learn more.

We thank you for your care and support to this community!

“If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?” – James 2:16
